As a rule, we're open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5:30 pm. We sometimes close at 6 pm if there are lots of customers in the period when legal time in Switzerland is UTC+2. The restaurant is open all day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the entire Easter weekend. We're closed on the Thursday and Friday of Ascension, on Whit Monday (May 24th), the Thursday and Friday following Jeûne genevois, and between Christmas and New Year,
We're located in building 504, near the computer centre.
The CERN Record Club is housed in the same building, open 3 times per week at lunch time. Several other clubs regularly meet here: the Ski Club, the Women's Club, the Yoga Club and probably others.
In the morning, on the ground floor, we have freshly baked croissants and other viennoiseries, as well as bread and sandwiches. All day we offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice and other beverages.
In the same, you'll find a newspaper stand with a choice of local and international papers and journals.
For lighter appetites we provide:

Cavalcanti, located on the ground floor next to the coffee area, serves a different pasta dish every day. The place is designed for customers who don't have much time and for those who like their pasta al dente.
We provide catering services for events at CERN: group meetings, end-of-year parties, retirement cocktails etc.
Lunch is served on the first floor from 11:30 am till 2 pm. We have the following:
Should demand for the express menu or the gourmet menu be larger than anticipated, then we replace the dish announced on the menu by a similar meal, without change in price.
There are of course also desserts and beverages.
We are certified by Fourchette Verte, which promotes healthier eating habits.
Very often either the express menu or the gourmet menu

La Caravelle is a small restaurant on the first floor - the perfect place to have lunch with friends or guests.
We serve the menu banquet if you reserve in advance for a group of at least 8 people. For smaller groups, and groups without reservation, we have a bistro-style menu.
Both menus change regularly with two or three entrées and main courses to choose from, followed by a dessert. Mineral water, wine (from a local producer) and coffee or tea are included.
Restaurant 2 at CERN is operated by the DSR, one of the largest Swiss catering enterprises. Across Switzerland, we serve over 11 million meals a year in approximately 220 restaurants. We employ around 1200 people, 10-15 of whom at CERN. (Figures for 2007.) Our headquarters are located in Morges.
